[Video]: Ghanaian caregiver suffocates baby to death

– – Police in Ghana’s capital Accra have arrested a caregiver for allegedly killing an 11-month old baby. The caregiver, Clara Ayani-Ampah, 54, was arrested after a closed circuit television (CCTV) video exposed her for maltreating and suffocating the baby during feeding. The baby was pronounced dead at the North Legon Hospital, near Accra where she was rushed to by managers of the creche. Singapore will pay citizens to have a baby amid the pandemic

Singapore will offer a one-time payment to aspiring parents during the coronavirus pandemic. The country’s deputy prime minister said the incentive would help reassure people who face financial pressure and are worried about their jobs. “We have received feedback that Covid-19 has caused some aspiring parents to postpone their parenthood plans,” Heng Swee Keat told lawmakers on Monday. “This is fully understandable, especially when they face uncertainty with their income,” he added. Ghana: Doctor turns truck into ambulance to save baby’s life

A doctor in Eastern Ghana has been praised by many for converting a pick-up truck into an ambulance just to save a two-day old baby. Dr. Emmanuel Addipa-Adapoe shared a photo of the said pick-up which had to be used as an ambulance on social media. Ghana: Clinician dumps baby in morgue ‘alive’

A physician assistant at a hospital in Ghana’s Upper East Region has reportedly dumped a baby in morgue despite being told the child is alive. A 40-year-old Nigerian man, Kingsley Madukwe, has allegedly killed his own wife for refusing to breastfeed their one month old baby. Mangayamma, a 74-year-old woman in India’s Anthar Pradesh state, recently became the oldest woman in history to give birth, after successfully delivering twin baby girls following an IVF procedure.
