Boat with 160 passengers onboard sinks in Niger River

– – Nigerian authorities have said that a boat with 160 passengers onboard on Wednesday sank in the Niger River. The accident happened due to what reports say was as a result of an overloaded boat. Boat disaster kills over 60 in Democratic Republic of Congo

– – More than 60 people have drowned after a boat capsized in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Some 300 people have been rescued but as many as 200 others are unaccounted for following the accident on the Congo River. Police in the Democratic Republic of Congo say at least 36 people are missing after a boat they were traveling in sunk on Sunday. Ghana: Four killed in boat disaster on Volta Lake

Four persons have been killed in a boat disaster in Eastern part of Ghana. Over 100 migrants feared dead in Libyan boat disaster

Libyan navy officials have said that at least 116 migrants are missing after the boat they were traveling in capsized off the coast of Komas. Komas is a town east of the capital Tripoli. Libyan navy spokesman Ayoub Qassem said on Thursday that another 132 migrants were rescued by Libyan coast guards. The rescue effort was assisted by local fishermen after the wooden boat capsized.
