US imposes sanctions on al-Shabab over military base attack

– – The United States has imposed sanctions on two senior leaders of Islamist militant group al-Shabab responsible for an attack on a military base in Kenya. In January one US military service member and two contractors were killed when the militants attacked Camp Simba on Manda Island. The attack was the first attack launched by al-Shabab on US forces in Kenya.
