SA Airways cancels weekend flights over workers’ strike

South African Airways (SAA) has cancelled all domestic and international flights scheduled for Friday and Saturday. The cancellation is taking place due to a planned workers’ strike this weekend. SA Airways crew held in Hong Kong over drug offences

Two South African Airways (SAA) flight attendants have been detained in Hong Kong on suspicion of drug trafficking. They are accused of carrying cocaine worth $1.9m to the Asian country. The two flight attendants have been in detention since their reported arrest last month. Hong Kong officials say the substance was found with them, but investigations are ongoing into the case. South Africa deports 90 Nigerians

The South African government on Friday deported 90 Nigerians for alleged immigration-related offences. Joseph Alabi, the spokesman for the Lagos Airport Police Command confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos. Mr. Alabi said the deportees, who are all men, landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at about 3.30 p.m. Friday.
