Malawi vendors escalate maize shortage in Admarc depots

Malawi MapBlantyre–As Malawians are still struggling to access maize in many Agricultural Development Marketing Cooperation (ADMARC) depots, it has been established that the situation is being escalated by vendors.

A snap survey by Maravi post in Ntcheu and Balaka districts has found that despite the rationing of maize sales to 10 Kilogrammes per customer by Ministry of Agriculture, vendors are still contributing to the unavailability of maize stocks in Admarc depots as they use dubious means to buy the grain denying the locals an access to the country’s major staple food.
