Ghana: Teenager commits suicide over school placement

A 15-year-old Junior High School (JHS) graduate has committed suicide by hanging at a town called Agona Asafo in Central Ghana. According to Ghana’s News Agency, the teenager hanged himself for not securing his preferred senior high school. Isaac Arhin, according to reports had wished to be placed in a school in central Ghana under the country’s computer selection School Placement System (CSSPS). Ghana: 51-year-old trader sits same exam with own child

A 51-year old trader’s quest to further her education in Ghana means she had to sit same basic school exam alongside her own child. Comfort Nutsugah is reported by Ghana’s News Agency to have taken advantage of government’s Free Senior High School Policy to further her education.
