Slangs shouldn’t be used in gospel music — Adaora
A gospel singer, Adaora, is of the opinion that slangs should have no place in gospel music.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, she said, “There is no reason slangs should be used in gospel music. I believe that they are not of God, so they should not be featured in any gospel music. The primary aim of Gospel music is not to entertain people but to praise God and draw souls to His kingdom. It is not ideal for gospel artistes to copy secular artistes. There should be a clear difference between those two forms of music”
The singer, who noted that she was working on her next song, also stated that she was driven by the passion to preach the gospel. She added, “My ultimate aim is to reach out to people through uplifting gospel music. I am deeply in love with Jesus and I want to bring souls to His kingdom.
“Aside from singing, I also train people on the rudiments of making music, as well as taking care of widows, orphans and the underprivileged in society.”
Speaking on some of the challenges she faces, Adaora said, “There some people out there trying to discourage me. They constantly gossip about me in a bid to derail me from doing the work of God. But, I don’t mind because I have passion for music and the things of God. A gospel signer’s calling is to glorify God, not to chase after money.”
