Young6ix Berates Davido for Excluding Him in List of First Generation Nigerian music Stars

Onome Onokohwomo, a Nigerian hip-hop artist based in the United States popularly known as Young6ix, called out singer Davido for not including him on his list of the first generation of young Nigerian music stars.

Davido recently claimed that he and Wizkid were the first young Nigerian artists to hit stardom and mentioned several new stars such as Burna Boy, Rema, Fireboy, Mayorkun, and Asake currently dominating the music industry.

In response, Young6ix took to social media to share a video message. He mentioned that he, along with Olamide and Wizkid, obtained fame before Davido. Young6ix expressed his love for Davido but insisted that he had to set the records straight, and they were the youngins of that time. He further asked Davido why he wanted to exclude him from that legacy.

Young6ix is known for his hits and collaborations such as “For Example” featuring Stonebwoy, “Squad” featuring Payper, and “Shole” featuring Dammy Krane and Sinzu.

Fans have continued to react to the ongoing dispute between the two music stars. Some have supported Young6ix, while others believe it is unnecessary to attack Davido over the issue.

In summary, while the Nigerian music industry continues to produce exceptional talents, it is essential to give credit to those who paved the way for the new generation of artists.
