UN migration agency issues $18.5 million appeal to prepare for mpox ‘surge’
The spread of mpox across the Horn, eastern and southern Africa has increased the risk of infection for migrants who need “crucial” healthcare and other support ahead of an “anticipated surge” in cases, the UN migration agency (IOM) said on Wednesday, in an appeal for $18.5 million to fund the response.
