Nigeria’s Songroute offers artists music sharing for radio stations and blogs

Nigerian music streaming and distribution service Songroute has introduced two features so that artists can share their music directly to blogs and radio stations, reported NexTVame. Songroute was launched in June and it has a database of more than 800 artists, and over 1,000 tracks were distributed in three months. The CEO of Playfre Africa, Chika Nwaogu, said that Songroute had recently launched two new services to help artists promote their music and drive sales on the platform.

Nwaogu said that the first service would allow the artists to distribute their songs to over 1,000 radio stations globally. The second  would allow artists to send their tracks to music blogs throughout Africa to get a feature. This would help them reach their fans online and drive sales.

Songroute offers its users access to approximately 50 million songs for free. To date, Playfre has gained over 5,000 registered users and more than 1,000,000 streams.
