Singer, Chinenye Nweke, aka Supernova, has said that her music career was influenced by Bob Marley.
Speaking during an event to announce her forthcoming concert in Abuja tagged Supernova Live, the singer said, “One of the unique things about my music is that I try as much as possible to pass messages. And, that was influenced by the kind of music I listened to while growing up. When my dad was alive, he always played Bob Marley’s music. I like his music because he usually told stories. He knew what the masses were passing through and he spoke about it in his music. I liked that and decided to incorporate it into my music. So, when people listen to my music, they can relate with it.”
Supernova also stated that her concert, which will take place at Transcorp Hilton, will feature entertainers such as 2Baba, Juliet Ibrahim and MC Edo Pikin, and is packaged by Black Celebrity Magazine.
The young singer started her music career as the lead singer of The Lords Chosen Kids. After the dissolution of the group due to management issues, she stopped music and focused on her education. In 2019, she returned to the industry and has since released six singles—Badder than You, Bounce, Key, Moon, Holyshit and Hustle Go-Pay.
