Alaa Salah: Icon of Sudan protests possible contender for Nobel prize

When photos of her reciting a poem before thousands of protestors demanding the departure of Omar al Bashir spread, Alaa Salah quickly became the icon of Sudan’s revolution.

Nicknamed ‘Nubian queen’, Salah is now a possible contender for the Nobel peace prize.
