WizKid confirmed for Machel 40 concert on Carnival Friday
WizKid has been confirmed as one of the acts for Machel Montano’s 40th-anniversary concert on Carnival Friday.
The King of Soca confirmed what many had speculated about via his social media.
Born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, the Nigerian singer and songwriter achieved international recognition following his collaboration with rapper Drake on the single “One Dance” in 2016.
That song landed him on the 2018 Guinness World records, a first for an Afrobeats artiste.
In 2019, WizKid was featured on Beyoncé’s project The Lion King: The Gift in the collaboration “Brown Skin Girl”, which won him a Grammy Award for Best Music Video.
WizKid is known for songs such as “Essence” featuring Tems, “Joro”, “Bad to Me” and “Come Closer” featuring Drake.
