Why I don’t localise my music — Thehonestguy

A budding singer, Ibrahim Fatoyinbo, aka Thehonestguy, has said that though he is proud of his Nigerian roots, he does not localise his music.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, the United States of America-based singer, said, “Nigeria has a lot of soulful talents, who lightly use afrobeats in their soul music. Because I don’t live in Nigeria, my strategy has always been to not localise my music to just where I am from. I am proud of my Nigerian heritage but I also want my music to appeal to people from diverse backgrounds.”

Speaking on his current projects, Thehonestguy said, “I am writing and recording a three-part album, titled, ‘Velvet Soul’, and it is a project I am very proud of. I like to make sure that my songs are about real issues that many people deal with. With this project, I have been able to accomplish that, and also experiment with new sounds.”
