Somalia: Car bomb explosion kills several at checkpoint
A car bomb explosion at a checkpoint on the outskirts of the Somali capital, Mogadishu has killed several people.
According to media reports a shootout took place between security forces and three attackers, who got out of a vehicle laden with explosives.
There are reports of the attackers dying with at least two civilians also reported to have been killed.
Police are yet to speak on the incident but local media reported that the attackers were targeting a tax office.
The militant al-Shabab group is known to often carry out such attacks in Mogadishu.
It has not claimed responsibility yet but often executes such attacks killing people.
