Niger: Thousands queue to volunteer in armed forces as threat of ECOWAS military intervention looms
Thousands gathered in Niamey to answer a call from several organisations to support the military. Also on Saturday (Aug. 19), Ecowas envoys landed in Niger to try to pursue further dialogue with the junta. The delegation reportedly includes former Nigerian military head of state A. Abubakar.
