As the Southern Hemisphere creeps into winter, GoodLuck and Nigerian rapper Ice Prince are heating things up.
In a first-time collaboration between SA’s electronic favourites and Nigeria’s rap star comes June – a pop and afrobeat musical cocktail that instils a craving for a mid-year summer holiday somewhere across the world.
“Their first-ever collab tells the story of someone who has been waiting for June, the relief of being able to head outside into the sunshine and get away on vacation (somewhere in the Northern Hemisphere),” reads a press statement of the song’s release.
“June is the summer song that the world needs to hear at the moment – I love the lyrical play that this song has,” says GoodLuck lead singer and songwriter Jules Harding.
“We all count down the months to summer, and those winter months can be super depressing although I’m not bashing winter – but everyone knows the best holidays are in the sun! It was too much fun writing and producing this song with Ice Prince, Ben and Greg Abrahams – I think we captured the good vibes in the music, but you let me know!”
