In another interview he had, he labeled Shatta Wale as ignorant. This comes after Shatta Wale stated that Ghanaian artistes need to identify a genre that can be attributed to all music works from Ghana.

Just as Jamaica is well known for Dancehall, Nigeria well known for Afrobeat, and Americans are known for Hippop, Shatta Wale revealed that he was asked in one of his meetings the kind of music Ghanaians do.

According to him, he only presented himself as a Dancehall artiste from Ghana but was quizzed about the kind of music Ghanaians are well known for.

Speaking to Abeiku Santana on Okay FM, Kwabena Kwabena stated that Ghanaians have always been known for Highlife and has been so since the beginning of music in Ghana.

He said that most highlife musicians receive invitations from outside the country to go and play highlife music, so therefore, Ghana has a unique genre which is Highlife.

He further stated that it is okay for Ghanaian musicians to adapt to genres from other countries but must always take note that Highlife has been the original genre of Ghana.
