France: Senegal buys belongings of former leader Senghor after deal with auctioneer, heir
Senegal’s culture ministry said it had spent $260,000 to acquire the items. The country officially bought them to “preserve the memory and heritage” of Senghor, who ruled Senegal from 1960 to 1980.
