Late Punjabi singer and rapper, Sidhu Moose Wala, also known as Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, has been sharing his art with his fans from beyond the grave since his untimely death last year. His father, Sardar Balkaur Singh revealed that the latest track by the singer titled ‘Mera Na’ has been released in both audio and visual formats.
The track also features a soulful rap by Burna Boy, who is seen in the video along with Steel Banglez, who has worked on the music of the song. The video, which has been directed by Navkaran Brar, perfectly encapsulated the lyrics which talk about how Sidhu Moose Wala’s name continues to reign all over the world, on every street, every corner, emblazoned across billboards, proving that even though he may no longer be with us, he will always be with us.
The VFX-heavy video features deepfake by Insight Keti and shows graffiti, stickers, posters and other such memorabilia of Sidhu mouthing the lyrics of the song, as he exclaims that he’s ‘feeling like a God’. Most of the video shows Sidhu’s impact on the people, youth and culture of Punjab, and we even see a young child decide to wear the turban taking inspiration from the Just Listen singer.
Then the video shifts to Steel Banglez, who features briefly against a blood red background, and then to Nigerian singer, rapper Burna Boy who raps for a little bit and then also sings ‘Mera Na’, this is laced with shots of Drake performing a concert, while paying tribute to Sidhu Moosewala with a T-shirt emblazoned with the Punjabi rapper’s face on it, and then visuals of Sidhu’s face in the sky, on people’s phones, sculptures and news coverage of the singer from all over the world demanding ‘Justice for Sidhu Moosewala’.

(sic)”, while another said, “2.6 Million views in just 1 hour. Even death can’t stop his legacy. Rest in power jatta.” One comment noted, “Even his unfinished songs surpass any other artist, truly a LEGEND. (sic)”
Sidhu Moosewala was shot in Punjab’s Mansa district last year when he was driving with two other companions to Jawahar Ke village. His vehicle was intercepted by six men who opened fire at the jeep, killing the singer on the spot.
Later Goldy Brar, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang known to send threats to celebrities including Salman Khan, claimed that he was responsible for Sidhu’s death. However last month, two of the six accused in connection with Sidhu’s death were killed when they got involved in a gang fight inside Punjab’s Goindwal Sahib Central Jail, their names were Mandeep Singh alias Toofan and Manmohan Singh alias Mohna.
