The singer also noted that Obi will have to organize “his home front” to convince other regions that Nigeria will be safe in the hands of an Igbo man.

Some Nigerians took to Twitter to criticize singer Olawale Olofooro, better known as Brymo, after making a comment about the possibility of an Igbo being elected president.

Brymo, who is a supporter of All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu, said it is unwise to elect former Anambra Governor Peter Obi as president this year.

The singer also noted that Obi will have to organize “his home front” to convince other regions that Nigeria will be safe in the hands of an Igbo man.

Responding to a Labor Party supporter’s tweet, Brymo said: “Don’t respect my intelligence or my choices…you’re trying not to accept a resolution…discuss more then…please…. Not wise to choose him yet, he may have to vividly organize his home front to lead the rest of us… an Igbo vice-president first perhaps to test the waters with the region is safer!

The singer in another opinion stated that the Igbo presidency will remain a pipe dream as long as there is talk of Biafra in the south-east.

He also tweeted that he would rather have a ‘sick president’ than vote for Obi.

However, the comments did not go down well with Nigerians, who labeled the musician a tribal fanatic and “igbophobic”.
