Barack Obama’s plea for his friend and her running mate was contained in a recent tweet. But what’s the point in Barack Obama pleading for his friend, Joe Biden and her running mate, Kamala Harris? Is such a plea even necessary? Will it influence the choice of Americans in the incoming November presidential elections?  Was the plea made because the former… Read More

As a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), I have been silent before now on the avoidable and needless controversy that has characterized the self-redeeming decision of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NBA to disinvite the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, as one of the speakers at the 2020 virtual Annual General Conference of the NBA… Read More

No sincere follower of the purported ongoing investigation of Ibrahim Magu, who was recently forcibly sacked as Acting chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), would not describe the exercise as what it truly is: a charade. An orchestrated extralegal act so brazenly packaged in the worst form of travesty.  Without any tinge of doubt, Abubakar Malami, the infamous… Read More

Last Sunday in Emene, Enugu State, a massacre on a small scale of unarmed members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) took place tragically. According to reports online some members of the ‘proscribed’ Biafra nationhood agitators were having a meeting (some say Jewish praying session, others recruitment exercise) inside the Community Secondary School in Emene. And suddenly the Department… Read More

The invitation admittedly extended to the Army by Enugu Police Commissioner ahead of the deadly shooting at Emene was too prompt and bears stark evidence of premeditation for lethal violence against the Igbo element on the part of the Commissioner of Police. This premeditation stems from the customary lack of compatriot empathy often exhibited by Northern Muslim security chiefs and… Read More

On Friday, February 28th, our kinfolk in the United States, standing shoulder to shoulder with their white compatriots of conscience who have repudiated, or are laboring to discard the privileged mores of a culture of racist disdain, will re-enact the great march on Washington that was once led by Martin Luther King. They will re-awaken the convictions that gave birth… Read More

The coup leaders in Mali are a bunch of disillusioned military men. There are certain areas to point to in their intents, speeches and body languages which indicates they have failed to understand that the world now abhors military dictatorship.  Ever since they catapulted themselves to power on the boisterous waves of anti-president Ibrahim Keita’s civil revolts, colonel Assimi Goita and… Read More

It’s not my style to dignify cow dung from interpreters of maladies. However, I welcome Umar Mohammed for throwing his hat into the ring to defend Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (Pastor RUGA) and his pet project – community policing.  I know I’m not going to settle anything with Mohammed, the inebriated cheer leader of Pastor RUGA. But I have to… Read More

“There are ambassadors who are here years, and pass on, and no one notices that they were ever here, that certainly wasn’t the case with Amb. Adefuye” – J. Peter Pham, Director of the Africa Center at the Atlantic Council, Washington, DC. Demographically and by the size of her economy, Nigeria leads the rest of Africa. Nigeria’s estimated population is more… Read More

From the trail of his articles, it seems Mr Bayo Oluwasanmi may have unexplained beef against the Buhari administration, especially Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN. Or how else does one explain his unwarranted vituperations against the Vice President or any issue related to the VP? Barely two weeks ago, Oluwasanmi wrote about Osinbajo (Pastor RUGA) and N100bn Alpha Beta Scam, a… Read More
