Nigerian soldiers on Tuesday reportedly opened fire on unarmed #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki toll gate, Lagos State.
Local media reported that there have been deaths and several protesters sustaining injuries during the shootout.
The state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had declared a 24-hour curfew following alleged violence that greeted the #EndSARS protest in the state.
Some of the protesters however claimed that the timing was short and refused to vacate the protest ground.
Some protesters told journalists that they were sitting on the floor when soldiers began to shoot.

According to livestreamers, the military is currently shooting at #EndSARS protesters who are still at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos. They switched off the electricity so they can’t be filmed effectively https://t.co/qoi1mYlSvb

History will forever be unkind to President @MBuhari. Under his watch, at the Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos, Nigerian soldiers shot live bullets at young, unarmed, innocent protesters demanding an end to police brutality.
The history books will forever remember you for this!#EndSARS
