Popular Nigerian preacher TB Joshua is dead

Popular Nigerian preacher and founder of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua has died a few days away from celebrating his 58th birthday.

He died suddenly on Saturday evening after a church service in Lagos, with his church confirming the news of his death on Sunday morning.

Prophet TB Joshua as he is popular called is reported to have fallen ill a few days ago before his sudden death.

A source told Saharareporters in Nigeria that TB Joshua “conducted a service yesterday (Saturday) evening.

He had been sick for two days. He decided to go to the hospital after the evening programme. He died on the way to the hospital.”

The Synagogue Church Of All Nations said “God has taken His servant Prophet TB Joshua home – as it should be by divine will. His last moments on earth were spent in the service of God. This is what he was born for, lived for and died for.”

TB Joshua was running a megachurch that also owns the popular Emmanuel TV television station based in from Lagos.

The channel is well followed by many Christians around the world. But the preacher is popular for his controversial prophecies on global happenings.

In a recent message ahead of his 58th birthday on June 12, he asked for people to fast and pray towards that day.

On social media people have been paying tribute to the preacher who died at the age of 57.
