In 2000, Sound Sultan, released his first single “Jagbajantis” which was a hit in the whole country.
After independently releasing other singles and featuring in hit songs of other artists, he was signed by a record label, Kennis Music.
Under Kennis Music, he released four albums.
Although Sound Sultan commenced his music career as a rapper, he later diversified into different music genres.
He sang R&B, Afrobeat, Soul, and Fuji.
He believed that music artists should not be judged based on their music genre, because the message of the song is the most important thing.
In 2007, his contract with Kennis Music expired and he partnered with his elder brother, Dare Fasasi aka Baba Dee to start a parent organisation, Naija Ninjas, for a record label, production outfit and clothing line.
Sound Sultan began a working relationship with Haitian rapper, Wyclef Jean when he featured alongside singer, 2face Idibia and Faze on “Proud to be African” from Wyclef’s Welcome to Haiti: Creole 101 album.
They also collaborated on two other projects, “King of My Country” released in 2009 and “People Bad” in 2012.
In 2012, he became a United Nations Ambassador for Peace, owing to his exemplary lifestyle and career.
After the fallout of the African Basketball League, the veteran singer sealed a deal with the organisers of the Continental Basketball League to become a team owner of the Lagos City Stars, and a facilitator of the league’s entertainment.
Born in November, 1976, in Jos, Plateau, he was the fourth of six children.
He got married to his long-term, girlfriend, Chichi Morah, now Farida Fasasi, and they are blessed with three children.
He will forever be remembered as a veteran singer, an inspirational artiste and a record producer.
