President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the passing of Hausa poet and singer, Isyaku ‘Forest’ Mohammed.
Forest was a household name, especially in the North. He composed campaign songs for Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Buhari’s message was delivered to the deceased’s family by Garba Shehu, his Senior Special Assistant on Media.
The President said Forest’s music that of his compatriots “enthralled followers who kept faith with the party”.
“He will forever remain in our thoughts. My condolences to his family, friends and admirers”, he added.
Speaking through Hajiya Habiba, the mother, Dauda Kahutu (Rarara) and Yusuf Haruna (Baban Chinedu), two foremost singers, the family thanked Buhari for standing with them.
Others on the presidential delegation were Ahmed Idris, Accountant-General of the Federation and Faruk Adamu Aliyu, APC leader in Jigawa.
