Tanzanian opposition leader ‘won’t accept poll results’

– Advertisement – The leader of Tanzania’s main opposition party Chadema, Tundu Lissu has said that he will not accept the results of Wednesday’s general election. He has alleged that there were voting irregularities and fraud in Wednesday’s general election. The head of the National Elections Commission, Semistocles Kaijage has however rejected those claims, saying there was no evidence to that. Tanzania: Magufuli wants men who impregnate schoolgirls jailed

The President of Tanzania, John Magufuli has said that men who impregnate school girls thereby distracting them from schooling should be jailed. Magufuli expressed shock at the rate of pregnancy among school girls in Tanzania’s south-western region of Rukwa. In the said region some 229 schoolgirls had been impregnated by men who were not punished. ICC in hot water again with African Leaders over its Probe of Burundi

(AGV):Tanzania President is Furious over ICC’s Meddling in Burundi. A statement from the office of Tanzanian President John Magufuli said the court’s decision “compromised efforts” of an East African Community (EAC) committee “charged with seeking a resolution to the Burundi conflict.” The committee is led by Uganda President Yoweri Museveni and former Tanzanian President Benjamin Mkapa.
