Malawi’s outspoken MP Jessie Kabwila wants Mutharika to fire greedy Ministers

Jessie Kabwila(AGV)—Malawi Congress Party (MCP) spokesperson Jessie Kabwila has asked president Peter Mutharika to fire his cabinet ministers for proposing a 583 percent pay hike which would see them carting home K3.5 million a month.

According to Kabwila, the ministers’ proposal is a clear sign that they are insensitive and extravagant; as such they cannot be trusted with the country’s limited resources.

Museveni Of UgandaA  three man delegation from the Uganda Electoral Commission spent a weeklong visit in Malawi to study voter education processes.  Inspite of flaws in the Malawi recents elections the Ugandans believe there are still positive lessons to be learnt.

Uganda has less than two years to prepare for the next  national elections and this time, election officials say they want to do a better job in educating voters.

Speaking to reporters Wednesday in Blantyre, the director of operations at the Uganda Electoral Commission, Leonard Mulekwa, explained why his three-person delegation came to Malawi.
