Nurses in Zimbabwe embark on strike

Nurses at all council clinics in Zimbabwe’s capital Harare have abandoned work compounding the health crisis in the country. The nurses declared strike on Monday citing incapacitation, according to local media reporting. Harare city Health director Dr Prosper Chonzi told Herald Newspaper that the latest development was a big blow to health sector. “As you know, most patients were now receiving treatment from clinics because of the current industrial action at central hospitals. Why Mugabe will be buried in 30 days

Former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe will be buried at Heroes’ Acre but his family says that will take place in 30 days. His nephew Leo Mugabe told journalists on Friday that chiefs in Mugabe’s village have agreed that he should be buried at the Heroes’ Acre. Zimbabwe: Police fire tear gas and beat protesters in Harare

Zimbabwe police on Friday fired tear gas and beat many opposition supporters who gathered in central Harare for a protest march. The government had banned an anti-government protest although the country’s high court upheld it. Protesters largely members of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) defied the ban. In an attempt to prevent the protest from taking place, police officers clashed with protesters.
