Ghana: Military officer charged in failed coup plot

State prosecutors in Ghana have charged a senior military officer for his role in a failed attempt to destabilize the country. Colonel Samuel Kojo Gameli and another civilian, Gershon Akpa who is an employee of the Ghana Armed Forces were charged on Friday. They were said to be part of the plot to overthrow the government. Prosecutors charged them with possession of explosives and ammunition without lawful excuse. A man in Ghana on Tuesday staged a fake suicide attempt creating panic in the capital Accra. The ranking was done by STR, an American company that tracks supply and demand data for multiple market sectors, including the global hotel industry.
