Inaugural FIFAe Continental Cup to take place in December 2020

  • The 16 qualified teams of the FIFA Online 4 Series have been confirmed and will compete for a record high USD 300,000 in prize money
  • Pinnacle event of the FIFA Online 4 Series will feature Draft Day, Group Stage and Knockout Stage in December 2020
  • Inaugural FIFAe Continental Cup Champion to be crowned on December 20

FIFA and EA SPORTS have today announced that the FIFAe Continental Cup™, the pinnacle event of competitive FIFA Online 4 gaming, will take place in December 2020. The inaugural competition will feature 16 teams of the FIFA Online 4 Series including three teams from China, five teams from South Korea, five teams from Thailand and three teams from Vietnam.

As the ultimate goal for every FIFA Online 4 team and competitor, this year’s FIFAe Continental Cup will be played in a cross-country remote production set-up to guarantee the players’ safety.

Teams were able to gain ranking points throughout the season at EA Champions Cups. 16 teams consisting of the best four teams on the leaderboards as well as the top three teams from each country will compete for the inaugural title and a total of USD 300,000 will be distributed among the teams – a record high prize pool for FIFA Online 4. Teams were ordered on the leaderboard and within each country by their ranking point total, a higher placement in EACC Autumn 2020 and finally by play-in match points in the most recent event.

Following last week’s EA Champions Cup, 16 teams of the FIFA Online 4 Series have qualified for the FIFAe Continental Cup 2020:

The FIFAe Continental Cup 2020 will determine the ultimate team champion in a thrilling competition format. After the Group Stage, the best two teams per group will proceed to the Knockout Stage and compete for a place in the final. The final will see the two best FIFA Online 4 teams battling it out for the historical title in a best-of-5 format.

The Draft Day of the FIFAe Continental Cup will take place on December 11, followed by the Group Stage from 13 – 16 December and the Knockout Stage from 18 to 19 December. History will be written on December 20 with the first-ever FIFAe Continental Cup Champion being crowned after the final matches of the tournament.

The event will be livestreamed in four languages on FIFA.gg as well as on various digital channels including the FIFAe Weibo account.
