Hexon, Inter and Team Gullit stay perfect

  • Third matchday at the FIFAe Club World Cup qualifying complete
  • Some clubs already through to the zone finals and play-offs
  • Overview of the most recent qualifying week

With the final week of regular-season qualifying coming up, only those teams in the first divisions of their respective conferences are still in the running to make it to the FIFAe Club World Cup™. A few clubs have already guaranteed a top-two finish in the Consistency Ranking, which equates to qualification, while others will be giving it everything they have in the final week as they look to secure a spot at the EA SPORTS FIFA 21 event.

Just three teams who began qualifying in their first divisions having picked up a maximum haul of points. Hexon esports, Inter esports and Team Gullit have all bagged the full 900 Consistency Points, meaning that they have already qualified via the Consistency Ranking either for the play-offs (in the case of Hexon esports and Team Gullit) or directly for the FIFAe Club World Cup (Inter esports) ahead of the final week of qualifying.

Review of the past week of qualifying:

Zone 1

The number of participants in this zone meant that action did not get under way until the third week of qualifying. The week came to a fitting conclusion with a showdown between the teams featuring Australian FIFA esports legends Marcus Gomes and Marko Brijeski. The latter came out on top, with his Atlantide Wave side defeating Melbourne City.

Zone 2

Despite a defeat at the hands of Kashima Antlers in the conference final, Blue United eFC maintained their first place overall and are looking good to qualify for the FIFAe Club World Cup for the third time.

Zone 3

A convincing week of qualifying saw 25eSports take over top spot. Along with Tuwaiq eSports, they are currently in the best position to qualify via the Consistency Ranking.

Zone 4

Conference 1: The top two spots in the Consistency Ranking in this conference are occupied by two-time FIFAe Club World Cup qualifiers Bochum, and last time’s defeated finalists Ellevens.

Conference 2: Riders are top of the table, but Tundra esports RU in second and Fnatic in third have not given up hope, with everything to play for in the final week before the play-offs.

Conference 3: RBLZ Gaming are in the lead, only just ahead of Serious Esports, who began qualifying in Division 2 and have certainly caught the eye en route to the upper echelons of the top division.

Conference 4: Two teams with FIFAe Club World Cup experience – namely Mkers and Team Vitality – will be hoping to maintain their positions at number one and number two throughout the final week of qualifying and make it through to the main event once again.

Conference 5: Team Gullit have cemented their spot in the top two and secured their place in the play-offs. Brondby IF meanwhile, who have the record number of appearances at the FIFAe Club World Cup to their name, are also on track, but Bremen are making a late push as well.

Conference 6: Neo are in pole position for qualifying, while Wisla All in Games Krakow are also on fine form and have made second spot in the Consistency Ranking their own.

Conference 7: Turkish outfit Futbolist put in yet another convincing performance and are well placed for a return to the FIFAe Club World Cup. Nevertheless, they have Bundled, AC Monza and Grizi Esport breathing down their necks ahead of the final matchday.

Conference 8: Olympique Lyonnais are closing in on another appearance at the main event, but there is stiff competition just behind them in the conference. Surprisingly though, big hitters Hashtag United are out of the running after a disappointing week.

Conference 9: NOM eSports have continued their good form, while Elide began qualifying in Division 2 but have made it all the way up to third in Division 1, just behind Legia Warsaw.

Conference 10: Hexon eSports are another team that has already made it through to the play-offs before the final week of regular-season qualifying, with PSV Eindhoven best placed to join them as things stand.

Conference 11: Consistent performers FC Burnley are still in top spot, with Sporting Clube de Portugal just behind them, maintaining their hopes of a second FIFAe Club World Cup appearance in a row.

Conference 12: Fokus Clan won the latest week of qualifying to take over top spot in the ranking, with FC Schalke 04 of Germany behind them in second.

Conference 13: Falcons took over top spot with their qualifying week win. Hot on their heels are two-time qualifiers AFC Ajax, with a big gap to the rest of the pack.

Conference 14: DUX Gaming find themselves just ahead of Astralis, who returned to form after a disappointing second week to get themselves back in the running for a qualifying spot.

Zone 5

Conference 1: FC Basel 1893 are currently at the top of the table, closely followed by ELS Torneios Online, with the remaining teams some way behind the leaders.

Conference 2: DUX Latam are showing the rest of the conference a clean pair of heels, but there is a battle raging behind them for second place in the Consistency Ranking.

Conference 3: Inter eSports have scored maximum points across all of the weeks of qualifying to become the first team to make it through to the FIFAe Club World Cup 2021. Plenty of other teams are still fighting it out for the remaining spots in this conference however.

Zone 6

New York City Esports won the week and are now top of the table, level with defending champions FIFAe Club World Cup champions Complexity Gaming. The final week promises to be an absorbing one.

Along with the top two teams in the Consistency Rankings from each conference, the two best teams in the final week of qualifying will also go through – either directly to the FIFAe Club World Cup or, in the case of Zone 4, to the play-offs.

The tension will reach fever pitch on Thursday and Friday, with all of the results available on FIFA.gg.

The final week of regular-season qualifying, taking place on 21 and 22 January, will determine the Zone 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 qualifiers for the FIFAe Club World Cup 2021. Due to the sheer number of teams in Zone 4, an addition round of play-offs will take place on 28 January.
