Gunmen kill six in attack on church in Burkina Faso

OUAGADOUGOU (Reuters) – Gunmen killed six people in an attack on a Catholic church in northern Burkina Faso on Sunday, the mayor of Dablo town, where the attack took place, told Reuters.

It was the second church attack in as many weeks in a country known historically for its religious tolerance, and comes as jihadist groups seek to destabilise Burkina and the wider Sahel region.
