Rwanda’s national carrier, RwandAir is expected to launch direct flights from her operating hub in Kigali to Brazzaville in the Republic of Congo from 3rd march this year. The new route will be launched with three weekly flights, which will feed and support its existing network.
In a statement to the press RwandAir CEO, John Mirenge, announced that the airline has been evaluating a number of destinations west of Kigali with a view to link Central and West African cities with East Africa. “We are looking at growing our network to the west whilst at the same time doing it in a way that will support our existing routes especially Dubai,” he said.
According to him, the Republic of Congo aviation authorities have granted RwandAir the rights to land in Brazzaville from next year. Kigali - Brazzaville will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Brazzaville becomes the thirteenth destination to be added to the RwandAir network and the first this year. The city, which is the home to over one third of the Republic of Congo population lies just across River Congo from Kinshasa.
The carrier has made great strides in its fleet acquisition process by having a combined total of five owned and leased aircraft. The airline will later this year take delivery of two Boeing 737- 800 from Boeing Commercial Airplanes. RwandAir serves all East African community capital cities with daily flights and it flies to Johannesburg and Dubai three times a week.

Lake Malawi is a beautiful fresh water lake that takes up about a third of the landlocked country of Malawi in Central/Southern Africa. The lake is 360 miles long and 52 miles wide, (hence sometimes known as the "calendar lake"). Mozambique and Tanzania border the lake as well, and in those countries it's known as Lake Nyassa. The waters of the lake are beautifully clear, perfect for swimming and snorkeling among the thousands of species of colorful Cichlids. Golden beaches, sleepy fishing villages and plenty of budget accommodation makes Lake Malawi a favorite destination for backpackers and Overlanders.
